NFL Draft Preview - QBs

There are two QBs who are already household names: Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. It's all but said that the Indianapolis Colts will select Luck with the first pick in this year's draft, with RG3 sure to be somewhere close behind. But aside from these two, and with USC's Matt Barkley staying in school for his senior year, who the hell else is there in the draft?

Ryan Tannehill - Texas A&M

Tannehill is a converted wide receiver, which means he's got athleticism. This will benefit him as he makes the transition to a drop-back passer, but he'll probably be like Tim Tebow and run the ball every fucking time. He's not a very accurate deep passer, but he can deliver a catchable ball on short and medium range passes. He is lacking in deep ball ability, but he'd be a good fit in a West Coast-style offense.

Brandon Weeden - Oklahoma State
Brandon Weeden is this year's Drew Henson. Anyone remember him? No? Well, Weeden is a former pitcher who has had injuries to his throwing arm in the past. He is a 28 year old rookie, just like Chris Weinke. Anyone remember HIM? No? Fuck. Things aren't looking too good so far. Weeden makes poor use of his size by using a 3/4 style release. That shit may fly in baseball, but any D-lineman worth his salt will immediately bat that away. It is hard to overlook his numbers though. This guy can produce. In a little more than two seasons he completed 69.5% of his passes for 9,260 yards, 75 touchdowns and 27 interceptions. He has a cannon. He was a pitcher, so duh. He is also very, very accurate.

Kirk Cousins - Michigan State
Michigan State has a football team? Huh. That is news to me. Apparently they were 17th in the nation and went 10-3. This guy can't be too bad. Cousins has good footwork and a quick release, but also favors the 3/4 style. He is fairly calm in the pocket, but does tend to panic with interior pressure. He has some mobility, but he's not going to break it open with his feet. He will stand in there and take a hit. He passed for 3,016 yards, with 24 TD and only 7 INT in 2011 and has 8,831 yards, 65 TD and 27 INT in his career.
